Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Thunder 380 is a series of lightweight and relatively small semi-automatic pistols chambered in the .380 ACP caliber, manufactured by the Argentine firearms maker, Bersa, S.A. It has a design that is similar to the Walther PPK and also shares some features with the compact Beretta 70 pistol.
The Thunder 380 is a pistol that has a light aluminum alloy frame which makes it easier to carry around. Despite being lightweight, it still has enough weight to reduce recoil. The magazines are designed with an extra section of grip to accommodate all fingers of the firing hand. The fixed-barrel design of the pistol helps in improving the accuracy. The alignment of the chamber and the topmost cartridge in the magazine is responsible for the pistol's reliable chambering and cycling. The frame has a long rearward tang over the grips which protects the shooter's thumb web from hammer-bite or slide-bite. The pistol has several safety features, including a slide-mounted manual safety and de-cocker that blocks the hammer, a magazine disconnect safety that prevents firing if a magazine is not inserted, a long double-action (DA) first trigger pull, an inertial firing pin and (in some models) an integral key-operated trigger lock. Some versions also feature an automatic firing pin block. The pistol has a rear sight windage adjustment to help with accuracy.
The Thunder 380 is a great option for concealed carry because of its compact size and rounded trigger guard. According to one reviewer, it is "very easy to maintain". The Thunder 380 is particularly popular in many South American countries, where the .380 ACP is often the most powerful cartridge allowed for civilians.
