In 1955, the Browning Arms Company launched the Model 1910 pistol in the American market as the Model 1955. This model was produced in Belgium and was almost the same as the European model, except the markings and grips. However, due to the implementation of stricter gun-control laws in the U.S., the importation of this model ended in 1968.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
In 1955, the Browning Arms Company started importing a striker-fired, blowback-operated pistol chambered with .380 ACP, which was built by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium. The pistol, designed by John Browning and initially named Model 1910 by FN, was renamed Browning Model 1955 for its import to the USA. The firearm features a steel frame and slide with an internally fixed barrel, making it small and easy to conceal. The pistol provides three safety mechanisms: a grip safety, a frame-mounted lever-actuated safety, and a magazine safety. On the top side, a basic set of fixed sights helps determine shot placement. The firearm operates through the renowned builder's striker-fired mechanism within the pistol's slide. Additionally, a six-round detachable box magazine feeds the firearm.
