The BSA Martini Cadet is a historically significant single-shot rifle originally developed in the United Kingdom by BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) and W.W. Greener for use by Australian military cadets. Though it resembles a scaled-down Martini–Henry, its internal mechanism was a unique redesign by Auguste Francotte, allowing the action to be removed from the receiver as a single unit for easier maintenance. Chambered in .310 Cadet (also known as .310 Greener), the rifle was issued from 1891 through 1955 and became a staple in Australian marksmanship training. It features a 25" blued barrel and simple but effective sights, typically a hooded blade front and adjustable rear, making it well-suited for instructional and target purposes.

While the .310 Cadet cartridge is dimensionally similar to the .32-20 Winchester, their slight bore differences (.323" vs .312") make interchangeability risky in terms of accuracy and safety. Despite its age, the Martini Cadet remains a favorite among collectors and gunsmiths due to its elegant simplicity, excellent craftsmanship, and versatility for conversion into customized varmint or target rifles.
