The Century Arms WASR-10/63 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, built with a rich historical lineage and robust military heritage. Manufactured using a newly-made single-stack receiver and chrome-lined barrel, the WASR-10/63 blends new American craftsmanship with authentic surplus parts from Romanian military rifles. These rifles were originally configured at the Cugir Arms Factory in Romania, with many components dating back to the Cold War era—ranging from the 1960s through the 1980s. While the receiver and barrel are newly manufactured, most of the internal components, including the bolt, carrier, and small hardware, are original military surplus. These surplus parts are often marked with the last few digits of their original serial numbers, and the trunnion retains the year of original manufacture and serial marking from the donor rifle.

The WASR-10/63 traces its roots to the Romanian PM md. 63, a variant of the Soviet AKM developed with direct Soviet support during the 1960s. This rifle was Romania’s response to the AKM, designed to be mass-produced using a stamped metal receiver for cost efficiency while retaining full combat capability. The semi-automatic WASR-10/63 retains much of the ruggedness of its military predecessor, featuring a 16.5-inch barrel with a parkerized finish and the traditional 7.62x39 chambering, known for its durability and performance in harsh conditions. It comes equipped with a winged A2 post front sight and a folding rear sight for adaptable target acquisition. The rifle has also been modified by Century Arms to accept standard 30-round double-stack magazines, making it functionally modern while preserving its Cold War roots.
