In 2004, TALO released two limited edition versions of the Colt Dragon in .45 caliber. The new Dragon Model is based on Colt's O2091, a full-size government pistol chambered in .38 Super that features an engraved slide with a dragon design selectively plated with 24k gold, copper, and silver, which are highlighted with deep etched black lines. Production was limited to 500 specially serialized units. MEX001 - MEX500!

Dragons have been a significant part of many cultures for centuries. The popular image of a dragon as a winged and fire-breathing creature with four legs is a creation of the High Middle Ages. In western cultures, dragons are often depicted as monsters that need to be defeated or tamed by saints or culture heroes. In China, dragons are associated with good fortune, and only the emperor was allowed to have dragons on his clothing, house, or personal items. In Mexico, a feathered serpent deity has been worshipped by different groups, and Mexican winged serpent motifs are quite common.
In 2004, TALO released two limited edition versions of the Colt Dragon in .45 caliber. The new Dragon Model is based on Colt's O2091, a full-size government pistol in .38 Super caliber. Manufacturing is limited to 500 serialized units. MEX001-MEX500.
The slides and frames of the pistol are initially polished, and the intricate dragon design is selectively plated with 24k gold, copper, and silver, and highlighted with deep-etched black lines. The chamber of the barrel is polished to complement the slide finish. The hammer, slide stop, barrel bushing, thumb safety, and mag release are highly polished. The hex-style grip screws are polished and coated with 24k gold. The grips feature an alternating dragon scale pattern and an embedded gold Colt rampant horses.

This example will ship with the original matching factory labeled box, two extra magazines, parts, manual, and paperwork pictured above! This example remains in New Old Stock, consumer unfired, condition.
