Safari Arms became known for taking existing Colt Government–style 1911s and enhancing them with features that shooters often paid custom shops to install, such as extended thumb safeties, beveled magazine wells, polished feed ramps, lowered and flared ejection ports, front and rear slide serrations, skeletonized hammers, and extended beavertail grip safeties. They frequently added ergonomic touches like undercut trigger guards and improved checkering, giving their pistols a more modern, carry-ready feel compared to standard production Colts of the era.
