The included factory Colt letter states that this particular model, with serial number WFH-1, is chambered in .45 Colt, has a 4 ¾" barrel length, a mirror-bright blue finish, plain ivory stocks with gold recessed medallions, and factory engravings by Steve Kamyk, Master Engraver. The engraving features gold inlay on the cylinder in a decorative manner, with "Colt, World's Finest Handgun" and the serial number in gold inlay. Additionally, it has a non-fluted cylinder.
This revolver was a prototype for a special edition that never came to fruition. It was also used as a display model in the Custom Shop showcase for viewing by visiting officials, dignitaries, and Custom Shop customers, as well as a "Show Gun" at various trade shows throughout the century.
