Bryant Ridge Auction Company is pleased to present this Incredible Limited Edition NRA Matched Set of Colts today for a penny start auction!!
This matched set is one of 1,135 produced exclusively for the 2014 Friends of NRA Gun of the Year by Colt. Both stainless steel semi-auto pistols were hand-assembled by Colt craftsman and packaged in the Colt Custom Shop blue box. Each set included matching Colt XSE Government Model .45 ACP and .380 Mustang Pocketlite pistols that feature the NRA logo on both the grips made of Blue & Black G10 designed by Altamont. Colt and NRA partnered together to assemble this limited edition NRA Matched Set, which included custom serial numbers and an NRA Matched Set logo laser engraved on the slide by Baron Technology. Each Colt NRA Matched Set was produced to Colt's exact specifications and was proudly offered ONLY at Friends of NRA events.

The Colt XSE Series features everything that top shooters demand in a pistol. The foundation for these pistols is a forged receiver, a forged steel slide, a forged stainless steel barrel, and a forged steel slide stop. Front and rear slide serrations come standard, along with Novak® sights. The Colt Upswept Beavertail Grip Safety with Palm Swell and enhanced cut under the trigger guard allow for a secure hold on the pistol. The Colt Tactical Ambidextrous Safety Lock allows for either right or left-handed operation. The addition of a one-piece, full-length guide rod rounds out a pistol suited perfectly for the shooting enthusiast or the personal defense user alike.

The precise machining process, high-quality materials, and design improvements make the Colt Mustang Pocketlite and Mustang Lite two of the most consistent and reliable firearms on the market. The stainless steel slide and barrel are CNC machined from solid bar stock for precise tolerances. With loaded magazines, each of these handguns weighs less than one pound. They both measure 5.5" long with a 2.75" barrel. The minimal weight and length of these guns, combined with the short single-action trigger, grip design, frame design, and firing pin safety block, make the Mustang ideal for personal protection.
With the undeniable and increasing success of the Friends of NRA program in 2012 and 2013, the pressure was on to create a 2014 Standard Merchandise Package to reflect that and to help continue the growth. Many of the items represent a cumulation of the combined effort of multiple contributors brought together in their efforts to support Friends of NRA: manufacturers and embellishers, printers and metal casters, artists, and framers, to name a few. Some items, most notably the Gun of the Year, are the result of years of planning and production.
The 2014 Gun of the Year is actually an exclusive two-gun package. Colt and Friends of the NRA joined together to create a limited edition NRA Matched Set produced through two years of collaborative effort and development. Created with both shooting enthusiasts and personal defense users in mind, the set features customized, matching Colt XSE Government Model .45 ACP and .380 Mustang Pocketlite pistols. To demonstrate these firearms resourcefulness, History Channel's Top Shot Season Four Champion Chris Cheng shot both at eh NRA's state-of-the-art indoor range.
