The Daewoo AR-100 is a version of the K2 rifle but without the burst and full auto functions. The K2 is the standard service rifle used by the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and was developed by the South Korean Agency for Defense Development. The K2 is manufactured by S&T Motiv (formerly Daewoo Precision Industries) and Dasan Machineries (since 2016). The K2 rifle is a gas-operated, shoulder-fired weapon that can fire both 5.56×45mm NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. However, it's recommended to only use .223 Remington for short-distance practice. Since its adoption in 1984, the K2 has replaced the M16A1 assault rifle in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.
