Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Dan Wesson Model No. 11, produced in a brief window from 1970 to 1971, stands as a testament to the innovative spirit of Dan Wesson Firearms. Chambered in .357 Magnum, this double-action revolver features a robust 4-inch blue-finished barrel, designed for precision and durability. Its design showcases the company's commitment to engineering excellence, with a pinned front ramp and a square notch rear sight that facilitate rapid target acquisition and enhance accuracy. The checkered walnut grips provide a comfortable and secure hold, making the revolver a joy to shoot, whether in competition or for personal defense. One of the defining characteristics of the Model No. 11 is its revolutionary barrel system, invented by Karl R. Lewis. This design deviates from the traditional approach of a fixed barrel, utilizing a shroud that allows for interchangeable barrels with varying lengths. The barrel is secured by a muzzle nut, creating tension that enhances stability and supports the barrel at both ends. This unique setup not only simplifies the process of swapping barrels but also contributes to a significant increase in accuracy, a hallmark of Dan Wesson's craftsmanship. Although the Model No. 11 had a short production run, its sophisticated features and the legacy of the Dan Wesson brand continue to resonate with firearms enthusiasts and collectors today.
