This Dan Wesson is part of a special collector's production run, known as Number Two. It was created to introduce the Dan Wesson .44 Magnum Revolver, and only 250 of them were produced. The serial number range for this run started at 000251 and ended at 000500. The revolver features a unique dove grey finish and comes with a smooth rosewood grip that has pewter medallions inlaid.
This particular example sports serial #000497, making it number 497 out of the 500 produced!

There was another production run created to introduce the .44 Magnum revolver, known as the first run. This run also had only 250 units, and the serial numbers ran from 0001 to 000250. It also featured the same dove grey finish but with a "Light Touch" of engraving. The smooth rosewood grips with pewter medallions inlaid were also present in this run. Both of these runs are extremely rare and highly collectible, making either one an excellent centerpiece for any collection.
