Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
This replica is designed to resemble the M16 assault rifle, which was originally named AR-15 and created by Eugene Stoner in the 1950s. It is made of a combination of metal and plastic and features a simulated loading and firing mechanism as well as a removable magazine. The M16 is an automatic assault rifle powered by gas and a rotary bolt. It uses removable clips of 20 or 30 cartridges of caliber 5.56 mm and can shoot at a speed of 800-900 shots per minute with an effective range of 500 m. It was adopted by the United States Army in 1963 and used during the Vietnam War.
After some modifications, the M16 was renamed M16A1 and became the standard rifle for the US military forces in 1969. The Vietnam War took place between 1955 and 1975 and was fought to prevent the reunification of Vietnam under a communist government. The Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) participated with the support of the United States and other nations, against the local guerrillas of the National Front for the Liberation of Vietnam (Viet Cong) and the army of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam), supported by China and the Soviet Union.
Since the Vietnam War, the M16 family of rifles has been the primary weapon of the US armed forces. It has also been widely adopted by armies around the world, with approximately 8 million M16 rifles produced since its design. Enjoy owning an iconic replica of the M16A1 assault rifle!
