According to the included certificate of authenticity "Glock hereby certifies that this pistol is a recreated model of the original Glock 17 that Gaston Glock introduced to the U.S. commercial and Law Enforcement customers in 1986. The original Glock 17, commonly referred to ad the G17 (Gen1), is built on the reputation of the Glock P80. This is the foundation upon which all subsequent models, as well as our reputation for accuracy, durability and ease of use, were built."
