Thanks to the Ultragon rifling, the Ultra Slug Hunter can put sabot slugs on target to the farthest reaches of shotgun range. At the top of the list is this heavy 24" barrel, fully-rifled H&R Ultra Slug Hunter, in 12 gauge. There has been many reviews if extremely tight groups at 100 yards, using sabot slugs. Ultra Slug Hunter comes complete with a Monte Carlo stock, recoil pad, scope rail with mounted Tasco Golden Antler 4x32 scope with Weaver 1" scope rings and sling swivels.
The H&R Ultra Slug guns have combined the heavy barrel concept of the Ultra Varmint rifle to achieve a level of accuracy previously unheard of in firearms below the 1,000 mark. The Ultra Slug guns incorporates the transfer bar safety system, mated to a heavy action and it is rifled for an extremely heavy barrel wall. This process creates the stiffest possible barrel, limiting barrel whip and shrinking group size.
