The H&R Model 586 is a solid-frame western-style revolver that uses the same lockworks as the Model 504 but is a double-action gun. The Model 586 is chambered for the .32 H&R magnum cartridge and has the same cylinder dimensions as the Model 504 revolvers, but the cylinder is held in place by a center pin, and empty cases are ejected by opening the loading gate and pushing each case out with the ejector rod. The sights on the Model 586 are similar to the 504, with the rear unit adjustable for windage and elevation. There is no barrel rib on the 586, so the front blade is set in a ramp screwed to the barrel. The Model 586 also comes with a classic blue and color case-hardened finish, which adds to the overall look of a classic Western revolver.
