Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Model GE was the top of the line, heaviest barrel, pistol offered by High Standard in .22 LR when it was manufactured beginning June 1949 and ending December 1950. This is a rare gun. Fewer than 3,000 were produced. The Model GE has a removable bull barrel, which was offered in two sizes: a 4.5" bull barrel and a 6.75" bull barrel. The Model GE left the factory equipped with deluxe walnut Roper style grips.
The Model GE is similar in appearance to the Model GO,which also is known as the First Model Olympic. The differences between the Model GE and the Model GO are few. The Model GE is chambered in .22 LR, wheras the Model GO is chambered in .22 short. The Model GO has an aluminum slide. The Model GE does not. The Model GO has an unusual curved magazine, a unique characteristic of the gun.
