Item Description
Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this semi-automatic pistol today for a penny-start auction; this is the High Standard Supermatic Trophy.
A High Standard Supermatic Trophy bearing an “ML” serial number prefix was manufactured by High Standard Inc. in East Hartford, Connecticut, during the late 1970s through the early 1980s, with ML-prefix serial numbers first introduced on July 22, 1975 and continuing through the East Hartford production era from approximately 1977 to 1984. These pistols span both the Leisure Group period and later High Standard Inc. production, with documented examples dated to 1978, 1980, and 1981. The ML-series Supermatic Trophy remained largely unchanged from earlier versions, typically featuring a blued finish, gold-toned trigger, magazine release, and safety, and often fitted with a fluted barrel. Identification is straightforward, as the “ML” prefix is followed by a five-digit serial number, and although rollmarked “Supermatic Trophy,” many examples are commonly associated with the Model 9247 designation.
