Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Target pistols made by High Standard were available in a range of models, designed for use in competitive shooting with either .22 Short or .22 Long Rifle ammunition. One of the features that made these pistols attractive to buyers was their similar grip angle and manual safety location to the M1911A1 series, which is a popular pistol in service pistol competitions. High Standards were produced from 1926 to 2018 and are considered a classic .22 target pistol, often used in national-level NRA Bullseye match shooting. Some of the most popular models include the Victor, Supermatic, Supermatic Trophy, and Olympic. Today, High Standards remain popular among gun collectors.
The Supermatic Victor, also known as the Victor, was first introduced in 1962 as part of High Standard's .22LR target pistol lineup. It was originally featured in the 104 Series and was known for its slant grip, which is now a highly sought after collectible. The Victor has remained a part of the Supermatic line and continues to be produced today. It is based on a military frame and boasts a unique appearance with its slab-sided barrel and other distinctive components. The Victor has earned a solid reputation for its accuracy and performance, making it one of High Standard's top performers.
