Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
High Standard had a long history of manufacturing target pistols going back to before WWII, so they had lots of time to perfect the design. The Victor was added to High Standard’s military model line in 1971 and incorporated a feature frequently added to High Standard pistols by gunsmiths for target shooters: a sighting rib. Originally, the model was offered with a ventilated steel rib. Later, weight was reduced by making the ribs from alloy, and a solid rib option was added to the Victor model. Later, the solid ribs would be discontinued, and only the alloy vent ribs were offered.
This High Standard Victor is a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol that features an ML serial number prefix, classic blue finish, a 5 1/2" slabbed sided barrel with a ventilated rib, blade front sight with an adjustable rear for increased accuracy and held by walnut grips with full checkering.
