Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
Thie Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works Second Model Safety Automatic Hammer is a double/single-action black powder revolver that was produced between 1896 and 1906, during a time when Iver Johnson was renowned for its innovative designs and reliable handguns. This revolver comes chambered in .32 Centerfire, designed specifically for black powder cartridges (ONLY), which was common during that era. The firearm features a standard nickel finish, which was a popular choice for many handguns of the time, offering both durability and an aesthetically pleasing look. The revolver boasts a 3-inch barrel with a solid rib, which not only provides structural integrity but also contributes to better sight alignment and overall accuracy. The sights are simple yet effective, with a fixed blade front sight and a V-notch rear sight, typical of handguns from this period. This configuration was designed for quick aiming and ease of use, particularly for self-defense. The grips are made of hard black rubber, which was common during this time.

These grips are also checkered to provide a secure hold, even under recoil, and distinctive owl head logos on the grips add a touch of uniqueness and serve as a signature design feature of Iver Johnson's firearms. The Iver Johnson Second Model Safety Automatic Hammer revolver is a historically significant piece, blending functionality, durability, and distinctive design elements from the late 19th century.
