Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Iver Johnson .22 Supershot Sealed Eight is a well-regarded top-break double-action revolver that was manufactured between 1932 and 1958. Known for its durability and safety features, the revolver is chambered in .22 Long Rifle and features an 8-round cylinder. Most models have a 6-inch barrel, though variants with 2 1/2- and 4-inch barrels were also produced. The revolver weighs between 24 and 28 ounces and was available with either a blued or nickel-plated finish, often paired with checkered Walnut grips. Its “Sealed Eight” design included counterbored chambers that protected the shooter from ruptured cartridge heads. Production began with the first model in 1932, followed by a second model after World War II around 1946, and culminating with the third model (Model 844) introduced in 1954, which featured a smooth cylinder and pear-shaped barrel before production ceased in 1957. Today, these revolvers are collectible pieces valued by firearm enthusiasts for their craftsmanship.
