Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The U.S. Revolver Co. Automatic Hammer revolvers, manufactured by Iver Johnson’s Arms & Cycle Works between 1910 and 1935, were designed for the wholesale market and were not featured in Iver Johnson’s catalogs, although they did appear in some European catalogs as original Iver Johnson products. These revolvers did not incorporate the "hammer the hammer" action typical of other Iver Johnson firearms, instead relying on a safety notch on the hammer. They featured hard rubber grip panels marked with "U.S." at the top, with optional oversized two-piece hard rubber grips. Offered in two frame sizes, the small frame had a 3-inch barrel, while the large frame had a 3 ¼-inch barrel. Calibers included .38 centerfire with a 5-round cylinder for the large frame, and both .32 centerfire with a 5-round cylinder and .22 rimfire with a 7-round cylinder for the small frame. The small frame revolvers weighed 12 ounces for the .22 rimfire and 12 ½ ounces for the .32 centerfire, with a height of 3 ¾ inches, a frame length of 4 3/16 inches, and an overall length of 6 3/8 inches with the 3-inch barrel. The large frame revolvers weighed 17 ¾ ounces, with a height of 3 7/8 inches, a frame length of 5 inches, and an overall length of 7 3/8 inches with the 3 ¼-inch barrel.
