Israel Weapon Industries' (IWI) Tavor is one of the most successful bullpup rifles available in the civilian market. In 2018, the company announced the launch of a new version of the rifle in 7.62 NATO, alongside its existing 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, and 9 mm Luger models. This move was similar to their original battle rifle, the Galil, which had a larger-caliber sibling to complement the smaller-caliber original. The Tavor 7 is a highly refined and original design in its own right, combining the features of both IWI's SAR and X95 rifles. With the addition of the .30-cal. Tavor, IWI has added a harder-hitting chambering to its bullpup lineup while building on the experience gained with the original Tavor rifles.

The TAVOR 7 is a versatile firearm that can be easily customized to suit the needs of both right- and left-handed users. It features a switchable ejection side and charging handle, as well as an ambidextrous safety lever, magazine release, and bolt catch. Additionally, the rifle boasts an M-LOK fore-end and MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions, allowing for the attachment of various accessories. The body of the rifle is constructed from a high-strength impact-modified polymer, while the hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel provides both accuracy and longevity. Other highlights include a short-stroke gas piston with a 4-position gas regulator (including an OFF position), a rotating bolt system for added safety, and a customizable pistol grip.
