Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The 1889 Marlin was an updated successor to the 1881 and 1888 rifles. It was designed utilizing a version of the 1881 action, chambered for the .32, .38, and .44 caliber cartridges of the day, but with the bolt, carrier and right-hand ejection system being the main differences. The gun was available in several different configurations (herein called 'Models'). The 1889 Marlin was produced starting in 1889 through 1903. During that 13-year period, there were 55,119 guns sold.
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this Marlin is in great condition showing no indications of extensive consumer use or mishandling that we can see!
