This is a “New Model” Marlin Model 1895SS lever action rifle, made with a 22” round barrel and two-thirds length magazine tube. The original Model 1895 rifle ceased production in 1915, and was upgraded and brought back into production in 1972. The barrel is chambered in .45-70 Govt. and has Ballard rifling, which produces tighter groups with lead bullets than Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling. The rifle is in about Very good-Fine condition. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. This rifle is perfect for elk or black bear hunting and its fast lever action will give you a quick 2nd shot on running game if you need it.
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this Marlin is in Excellent condition showing no indications of regular consumer use or mishandling that we can see!
