The Mauser Karabiner M98, more commonly known as the Karabiner 98k or simply K98k, is a historic bolt-action rifle that served as the backbone of the German infantry during World War II. Manufactured by Mauser and chambered in the powerful 8mm Mauser (7.92×57mm) cartridge, this rifle is a refined evolution of earlier Mauser designs, particularly the Gewehr 98 and its derivatives. The K98k features a 24-inch blued barrel, designed to offer a balance between maneuverability and accuracy, and a robust bolt-action mechanism renowned for its reliability under harsh battlefield conditions.
