The rifle’s one-piece smooth walnut stock gives it a clean, professional appearance while providing the weight and ergonomics necessary for steady shooting from supported positions. Unlike earlier Mossberg training rifles, which were repurposed from military surplus, the 144 LSB was purpose-built for competition. It draws its lineage from the WWII-era Model 44US, originally used to teach marksmanship to American military recruits.
