The 12 gauge version is particularly popular due to its wide array of optional features. The pistol grip variants of the Model 500, including the Persuader, Cruiser, Road Blocker, and Mariner, are frequently used as riot guns. These models typically feature either an 18.5-inch (47 cm) or 20-inch (51 cm) barrel, depending on the magazine capacity.
