The Mossberg 702 Plinkster is a .22 caliber rimfire rifle that comes with various combinations of stocks and barrels, ranging from synthetic to maple stock and chrome to blued steel barrel. The blued barrel measures 18 inches while the chrome barrel measures 21 inches, making for overall lengths of 37 inches and 40 inches respectively. This rifle is manufactured in Brazil by Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos (CBC) and sold under the Mossberg brand. It is basically a restyled version of the CBC Model 7022 that meets Mossberg's specific requirements and was previously sold under the MagTech brand. The bolt and receiver design is based on the Model 70 variant of the Marlin Model 60, although the ejector, firing mechanism, and feed system are different.
