The Camillus US Pilot Survival Knife Model NY 2-1984 0519 has the E-4 Phantom and pictures of jets engraved on the blade. We believe it was issued to a pilot. Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States, dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus-branded knives and was also a contractor for other knife brands. Sadly, it filed for bankruptcy in 2007, ending its contributions to the cutlery industry spanning over three centuries.
The MK 3 MOD 0 Combat/Diving Knife is a multi-purpose fixed-blade fighting knife made by the Ontario Knife Company. It is issued to U.S. Navy SEALs during BUD/S training and used by Reconnaissance Marines at the Combatant Divers Course in Panama City, Florida. The MK 3 functions as a Dive knife, Fighting knife, or Utility knife. It has a striking butt for hammering, a serrated saw edge on the spine, and the ability to pry with the thickness of the blade. The US Navy chose 440 Stainless Steel for the blade material with a hardness rating of 49-54 HRC for two reasons: its corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness for mass production. The Black Oxide finish protects the blade from rusting and makes it easy to sharpen in the field. This knife has 2V376 MK3 MOD 0 stamped on the blade.
