Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
H&R 1871, LLC, or more commonly known as Harrington & Richardson, is an American brand of firearms and a subsidiary of JJE Capital Holdings. The Harrington & Richardson (H&R) gun company dates back to 1871, when it was founded as Wesson & Harrington. For over 100 years H&R manufactured handguns, shotguns, and rifles.
In the 1980's the old H&R Company fell on hard times, and in January of 1986 they went out of business. H&R 1871, Inc. was formed in 1991 and manufacturing double action revolvers, break-open rifles, and shotguns of basic H&R design utilizing the H&R and New England Firearms (NEF) trademarks. In 2000 Marlin purchased H&R 1871 and acquired the New England Firearms and Wesson & Harrington trademarks. After 2007, the NEF brand has been seen only on imported models.
Whether marked NEF or H&R, these rifles come out of the same factory in Gardner, Massachusetts and are functionally identical. The Harrington & Richardson name is probably better known to the older generation of shooters, but guns bearing the NEF trademark seem to be more widely distributed today.
Pardner shotgun (Single-shot): Available in gauges 10, 12, 16, 20, 28 and in .410 bore. Youth/compact models available in short barrel 8-, 10-, and 12-inch versions prior to 1911, Tamer, and Survivor models available in addition to the standard Pardner.
Return Policy:
We gladly offer a 3 day unfired inspection policy from the time that the firearm is delivered to your FFL. Refunds are available for all qualifying orders.
