When the name Nosler is mentioned, the first thing that springs to mind for most sporting rifle owners is bullet heads, such as the Partition and Ballistic Tip, which other ammunition manufacturers also use. These high-performance bullets need a rifle of similar quality, so Nosler decided to make just such a rifle, with a guaranteed accuracy of 1MOA or less when using its ammunition. The Nosler Custom Model 48 rifle comes in three models: the cheaper Trophy Grade, the Varmint and the model on review, and the more expensive Custom Sporter in .308.
It's no secret that America uses many Nosler bullets, which have set the gold standard for almost 65 years. If you're a gun enthusiast, you might know that Nosler also makes rifles, although they've only been available to the public since 2005. The original NoslerCustom Rifle (NCR) was a limited-edition model that cost $4,000 and was only sold directly by Nosler. Later, Nosler released the Model 48 Sporter line, which includes the Hunter and Varmint rifles. These rifles feature top-notch Kevlar stocks and are available at a special price for NRA members.
In 2010, Nosler introduced the M48 Trophy Grade Rifle (TGR), priced at $1,795. This move shows that Nosler is fully committed to the rifle-making business. Unlike other companies that buy M700 or M70 actions and customize them, Nosler manufactures its own actions. The TGRs use barrels made by PacNor and are hand-honed. Each barrel is trued to the action by Nosler's gunsmiths and is coated in a Cerakote finish to protect it from rust and harsh conditions.
The TGR is a dependable, accurate, and weather-resistant rifle. It weighs 7.5 pounds and comes with a great trigger. Its only downside is the common black and grey spider web stock color, which makes it look similar to other rifles at first glance.
