Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 700 stands as a cornerstone in the realm of bolt-action rifles, tracing its origins to the innovative designs of Mike Walker in the post-World War II era. Walker’s pursuit of a cost-effective and efficient rifle led to the development of the Model 721 and 722 series, which laid the groundwork for the iconic Model 700, first introduced in 1962. Celebrated for its robust bolt-action mechanism and remarkable versatility, the Model 700 quickly gained favor among hunters, target shooters, and military personnel alike. Its influence extended into military applications, notably shaping sniper rifles such as the M24 and M40, which became trusted tools for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. The Model 700's design accommodates various configurations, including both detachable box magazines and traditional internal magazines, enhancing its adaptability for diverse shooting preferences and environments. With a reputation for reliability, the Model 700 offers a wide range of stock, barrel, and caliber options, making it a benchmark in precision shooting. This rifle not only embodies decades of refinement and innovation but also represents a lasting legacy in firearms history, ensuring its status as a favored choice among enthusiasts and professionals.

The .30-06 Springfield caliber remains a very popular sporting round, with ammunition produced by all major manufacturers. This particular rifle is built around a 26-inch black/blue steel barrel that not only enhances durability but also contributes to the rifle's inherent accuracy. The barrel is configured with a 1:10 twist, ideal for stabilizing heavier projectiles, ensuring consistent bullet flight and improved precision at extended ranges. The 11-degree muzzle crown serves to protect the barrel’s muzzle from damage while helping to maintain accuracy by ensuring uniform gas expansion when a round is fired. The Remington Model 700 Stainless action is designed for smooth operation with a right-handed, long-action bolt-action mechanism. The bolt itself is stainless steel finished in black/blue, featuring a swept 11-degree bolt lever orientation for ergonomic operation. The long/standard pin ejector type, large standard clip extractor, and standard tip firing pin size (.075) with a .0615-inch pin protrusion contribute to the rifle’s robust performance, ensuring smooth cycling and reliable ignition. The rifle is also equipped with a Remington Model 700 XMP right-hand black adjustable trigger, offering a crisp and predictable pull with an assembly weight of 7 pounds, which is ideal for precision shooting. Although this rifle does not come with iron sights, it features a drilled and tapped receiver, allowing for the easy installation of optics or other sighting systems. The lack of included sights may be seen as an advantage for users who prefer to choose their own optics for tailored performance. The attention to detail in the design and assembly of this rifle is further evidenced by the inclusion of a custom assembly sheet. This document highlights the specific specifications and the meticulous craftsmanship behind each Custom Shop Remington 700, offering prospective buyers a deeper understanding of the rifle’s construction and the customization options available. Whether intended for high-performance hunting or long-range shooting, this rifle offers the precision, reliability, and power needed for the most demanding applications.
