Palmetto State Armory has released the JAKL Rifle upper in 5.56 NATO, which is built around a 6105 monolithic upper receiver that is compatible with any Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receiver. The buffer system is fully captured in the upper receiver, which shortens the firearm's overall length. The PSA JAKL features a long-stroke piston design with an AK/AR hybrid Carpenter 158 bolt and 4340 carrier. The side charging handle is ambidextrous, allowing the user to easily change positions to the left or right side of the receiver without the use of tools. Additionally, the JAKL is equipped with a toolless 8-position gas block that offers the ability to quickly adjust the gas block by hand when needed.
Field stripping and removal of the JAKL carrier, recoil assembly, and sled assembly can all be done without tools for effortless cleaning. The PSA JAKL is a great economical upgrade and comes complete with a Reptila FDE pistol grip and FDE & JAKL Stock Adapter for fast brace installation. The Palmetto State Armory starts with their standard single-stage government-style fire control group and finely polishes the contact surfaces. The hammer and trigger are coated in a super slick nickel finish, resulting in a trigger that is substantially smoother than mil-spec.
