Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
This is a lovely, high grade .410 O/U built in Villach, Austria during the 60's. These guns were built by two friends George Quaile and Donny Donaldson who met in Austria and owned a gun shop in Florida named Quaile and Donaldson. They had these guns built to their specifications and sold them in the Florida shop. These are very high grade firearms with a wonderful feel and balance. Quality is obvious on this little gun, from the use of Boehler steel for the barrels, to the full length trigger tang, to the gold hand engraved Quail on the grip cap which is on all of their guns, no expense spared. They imported the wood from Yugoslavia. Scalloped action, deep rich blue, great hand cut checkering, and excellent fit and finish are all features of this lovely firearm.
This particular gun has Boehler steel barrels which measure 26 3/8 inches and both bores measure exactly .404 inches. Choke constrictions in both barrels are .007 or Improved modified in .410 and chambers are 3 inches. Stock dimensions are 1 3/8 X 2 1/4 X 14 3/8 over the original horn butt plate which has some worm holes but still is in very nice condition. Cast of the stock is neutral. The trigger is single and selective and ejectors are well timed. The weight of this little beauty is 5 pounds 12 ounces and once again, the balance is wonderful!
Condition and Contents:
As you can see in the many high resolution photos, this shotgun is in EXCELLENT condition showing no evidence of regular consumer use or handling that we can see!
