Bryant Ridge Co. is pleased to present this stunning semi-automatic pistol today for a penny-start auction, this is the Wilson Combat 40th Anniversary CQB Elite!
In celebration of forty years of building the world’s finest custom handguns, Wilson Combat issued a limited run of special commemorative CQB Elite models for 2017. These Wilson Combat 40th Anniversary CQB Elites came with specialized serial numbers that range from WC40-001 to WC40-400. This particular example bears serial #WC40-276, making it number 276 out of the 400 produced!
According to the owner, this Wilson Combat 40th Anniversary .45 is a very special piece. In 2016, Wilson made 400 of this model, all in black Armor-Tuff with night sights. However, a special dealer friend of Wilson was able to place an order for four guns with custom features: a case-colored frame and gold front sight. Out of these four, one was a 9mm, one was a .38 Super, and two were .45s—this is one of the two .45s. However, with those statements being said, please note that Bryant Ridge Co. does not have the documents attesting to the above information provided by the owner, and are only stating the information provided by the owner.
The gun is based on Wilson's CQB model but with nearly all the internal options of a Supergrade, including a bull barrel—an upgrade that would appear in a future anniversary model, but not within the same category. This is a truly unique and rare example, making it a huge deal in the world of high-end firearms.
According to our research, in 2018, Wilson Combat shared a post that included SMP Outdoors on Facebook about a Wilson Combat 40th Anniversary CQB Elite featuring a color case-hardened frame. That particular gun, serial number “WC40-277,” was chambered in .38 Super. The post also noted that a 9mm and .45 ACP model were ordered on the same day, all featuring the same unique color case-hardened frame. This further confirms the rarity and special nature of the limited-run anniversary models.

These all-steel pistols are designed as carry guns and also feature their one-piece machined magwell, ambidextrous safety, slide top, and rear serrations. The flush-cut, reverse-crowned barrel is deeply fluted and mates with a specially engraved, recessed reverse plug. Black Armor-Tuff is the standard finish. The special grips on this model are handcrafted, premium desert ironwood with solid sterling silver medallions. The quality of this rare wood and its fit and finish are exceptional.
