Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The .300 Remington Ultra Magnum, also known as the .300 Ultra Mag, 7.62×72mm or .300 RUM, is a rifle cartridge introduced by Remington Arms in 1999. Considered one of the largest commercially available .30 caliber magnums, it is capable of handling all large North American game and long-range shooting. This beltless, rebated rim cartridge is second only to the .30-378 Weatherby Magnum in cartridge-case capacity. The .300 Remington Ultra Magnum cartridge was created as a long-range hunting cartridge, and it exceeds most other cartridges in this regard. It can launch heavy bullets with high sectional densities at high velocities, thereby retaining energy to take game cleanly at longer ranges than less powerful cartridges such as the .30-06 Springfield and even the .300 Winchester Magnum.

Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 700 is a line of bolt-action centerfire rifles produced by Remington Arms since 1962. It is an advancement of the Remington 721 and 722 series of rifles, which were first introduced in 1948. The M24 and M40 military sniper rifles, used by the US Army and Marine Corps, respectively, are both based on the Model 700 design. The Remington 700 series rifles generally have a 3-, 4- or 5-round internal magazine based on the caliber chambered. Some models have a hinged floor-plate for quick unloading while others are "blind" with no floor plate. The rifle can also be ordered with a detachable box magazine. The Model 700 is available in many different stock, barrel and caliber configurations, with many aftermarket variants built on the same action footprint. From 1978 to 1982, Remington manufactured the Sportsman 78 which is essentially the same model 700 action but with less expensive features such as a plain stock without checkering.
