Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington Model 700 is a line of bolt-action centerfire rifles produced by Remington Arms since 1962. It is an advancement of the Remington 721 and 722 series of rifles, which were first introduced in 1948. The M24 and M40 military sniper rifles, used by the US Army and Marine Corps, respectively, are both based on the Model 700 design. The Remington 700 series rifles generally have a 3-, 4- or 5-round internal magazine based on the caliber chambered. Some models have a hinged floor-plate for quick unloading while others are "blind" with no floor plate. The rifle can also be ordered with a detachable box magazine. The Model 700 is available in many different stock, barrel and caliber configurations, with many aftermarket variants built on the same action footprint. From 1978 to 1982, Remington manufactured the Sportsman 78 which is essentially the same model 700 action but with less expensive features such as a plain stock without checkering.

The Remington 700 needs no introduction; it has been used by hunters, sportsmen, and Law Enforcement for generations. This rifle has a stainless steel barrel, receiver, bolt, and synthetic stock and is chambered in the .7mm Remington Ultra Mag cartridge. The stainless construction and synthetic stock make this ideal for hunting as it will resist corrosion, and the stock won't swell if it gets wet. The 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum cartridge is recognized for its exceptional long-range capabilities and high ballistic coefficients.
