Weighing approximately 7 3/8 pounds, the rifle lacks iron sights and comes equipped with a black, non-reflective synthetic stock with molded checkering for a secure grip in various weather conditions. From 1997 to 2001, fine-line engraving on the receiver and floorplate became standard, adding a touch of elegance to its rugged design. In 2004, the final year of production, Remington upgraded the rifle with its R3 recoil pad, enhancing shooter comfort and reducing felt recoil.
