According to the owner, this Remington 870 is far from a standard pump-action shotgun. It appears to have been either customized by Wilson Combat’s Scattergun Technologies or outfitted with Scattergun Technology components by a skilled gunsmith. Key upgrades include a threaded barrel for interchangeable choke tubes (with one installed), an adjustable ghost ring rear sight, and a tritium night front sight for low-light targeting. The barrel is also ported to reduce recoil for faster follow-up shots, and the shotgun features a rigid 2-shot magazine extension with an integrated sling attachment. This setup makes it exceptionally well-suited for law enforcement or home defense applications. As noted by the owner, its reliability and power were trusted often during salmon fishing trips in Alaska, where encounters with coastal brown bears were a real possibility, underscoring the practical, real-world value of this uniquely configured 870.
