The Model 870 pump-action shotgun is a remarkable piece of equipment that has been around for over 50 years. It is known for its strength, durability, smooth action, and classical design. If it were introduced today, it would be considered a major advancement in shotgun technology. With over 11 million units sold, it holds the title of the best-selling shotgun of all time. This popularity has led to the production of dozens of configurations, making the Model 870 suitable for a wide range of applications.
In 1984, Remington announced that they had produced their four-millionth Model 870 Shotgun! Additionally, the company introduced the Model 870 “Special Field” in 12 and 20-gauge versions, which came with checkered, straight English-style stocks (without a pistol grip), and 21-inch ventilated rib barrels in improved cylinder, modified, and full chokes. Remington also decided to rename “Lightweight Limited” to Model 870 20 gauge Lightweight “Youth Gun” and changed the barrel length to 21 inches. Contents:
