The Remington 40XR KS Sporter is a refined evolution of the highly respected 40X line, which originated in the mid-1950s as Remington’s premier series of hand-built, Custom Shop precision rifles. Produced during the late 1980s through the early 1990s, the 40XR KS Sporter combined the match-grade accuracy of the 40X action with a lightweight, practical sporting format. The “KS” designation refers to the Kevlar-reinforced stock produced by McMillan, a significant upgrade that offered increased strength, stability, and weather resistance compared to traditional walnut stocks.
