Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The Remington/Eddystone Pattern P14 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .303 British, developed to supplement the British Army’s small arms during World War I. Built on a strong and reliable action, it features a 27-inch barrel, a protective winged front sight, and an adjustable peep rear sight, giving it notable accuracy and durability in the field. Manufactured in the United States under contract, the P14 served as an important addition to Britain’s arsenal when demands for rifles exceeded the production capacity of domestic factories. Its rugged design, combined with the proven .303 cartridge, made it a dependable service rifle that could withstand the rigors of combat.

This particular example is outfitted with smooth wood furniture paired with a blued finish, emphasizing both functionality and classic styling. The bolt-action mechanism highlights its strength and precision, and its large receiver design would later form the basis of the American M1917 rifle. Today, the Pattern P14 is appreciated by collectors not only for its wartime service but also for its engineering and historical importance. Its blend of reliability, craftsmanship, and heritage makes it a sought-after rifle among military firearm enthusiasts.
