Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
The renowned Remington Model 11 was the first autoloading shotgun in America and was available in 12-gauge, 16-gauge, and 20-gauge models. It had excellent ergonomics, was hammerless, recoil-operated, featured side ejection, and had a tube magazine. Its design was mostly traditional, except for its slightly elevated raised receiver profile.

The Remington Model 11 shotgun was in production for 42 years, from 1905 to 1947. During that time, 850,000 of them were built. Remington also manufactured 65,000 Model 11s for Browning to assist the Allies in their fight against the Axis Powers during World War II. While the United States Navy primarily trained with the Remington 11 shotgun during the war, other branches of the military also received some of these shotguns. However, all the shotguns provided to the US armed forces were olive drab in color and had a Government property marking.

The Model 11 was designed by the legendary John F. Browning. Interestingly, the Remington Autoloading Shotgun was initially produced under that name, but in 1911, it was renamed as the Model 11. The gun was only available in 12-gauge in its early years until 1930 when the 20-gauge was introduced, and the 16-gauge was added the following year. Throughout its history, the gun had several "grades," including Standard, Riot, Police, Special, Trap, Tournament, Expert, and Premier. In 1931, a three-shot Sportsman model was also added. The Model 11 was later improved, and the Remington Model 11-48 was introduced, with another half-million being produced.
