Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
During the Old West era, it was common to have a saddle gun that could use both rifle and handgun cartridges. However, this concept has become less popular over time as rifle enthusiasts have turned to more specialized calibers and improved ballistic efficiency. Nevertheless, there is still a strong argument for using this type of gun in certain parts of the world where a simple, all-purpose rifle is needed. Rossi's Carbine has been successful in meeting this need and has enjoyed significant sales.
The Rossi Model 92 SRC Carbine is visibly very similar to the Winchester Model of 1892, although there are some minor differences internally. The receiver is an investment casting that is attached to a steel barrel, and the woodwork is well-fitted and polished while the metalwork is all stainless. The breech mechanism is a traditional Winchester lever-action, and it feeds on the tubular magazine located beneath the barrel.

The Rossi Model 92 SRC can hold 8 rounds of .357 ammunition, although it can also function with .38 Special cartridges, accommodating up to 9 rounds in the magazine. The foresight of the weapon is a blade, while the rear sight is open and has step adjustment for elevation. It can also be drifted sideways for windage and drift zeroing.
