The Rossi Model 13 “Princess” is a distinctive revolver with a rich history that highlights its unique place in the firearms market. Manufactured by Amadeo Rossi S.A. in São Leopoldo, Brazil, since 1957, the Princess has become one of the most produced .22 Long Rifle revolvers, with nearly a million units crafted over the decades. Its design, featuring a 3-inch barrel and a nickel finish, was aimed at providing a reliable and attractive firearm suitable for everyday carry, particularly targeting the Brazilian and Central American markets. The revolver is noted for its double-action mechanism and practical features, including a ramp front sight paired with an integral base rear sight for improved accuracy. The Rossi Model 13 was imported into the United States from late 1965 through 1968 by Forearms International Corp., with about 60,000 units making their way into the U.S. market. However, the passage of the 1968 Gun Control Act brought significant changes to import regulations. The Act imposed strict requirements, including a minimum barrel length of 4.5 inches for revolvers, which the Rossi fell short of by 1.5 inches.
