Bryant Ridge's Analysis:
In 1889, Amadeo Rossi established a firearms manufacturing firm in Brazil. Their journey into the American market began during the 1960s with the introduction of the Rossi Princess .22 Long Rifle revolver. This firearm, drawing inspiration from the early 20th-century Smith & Wesson Ladysmith, marked the company's entry into the competitive US firearms market. A significant milestone arrived a decade later when Rossi unveiled two products that would become closely associated with their brand. The first was the Puma lever-action rifle, a homage to the iconic Winchester Model 1892 often glorified in big-screen Westerns. The second was the Rossi Overland side-by-side shotgun, featuring a rabbit-ear-hammer design. Together, these firearms quickly became staples in the burgeoning world of cowboy action shooting, capturing the imagination of enthusiasts.

The 1970s also saw the introduction of the Model 62 .22 pump-action rifle, which mirrored the beloved Winchester gallery gun, bringing the thrill of slide-action rimfire shooting to a new generation.
While Rossi gained renown for their long guns, handguns remained a core offering of the brand. Throughout the '80s and '90s, Rossi expanded its handgun lineup to include five- and six-shot models in blued and stainless finishes, with a variety of barrel lengths. These handguns were chambered in calibers such as .22 WMR, .357 Magnum, and .44 Special, catering to diverse preferences among shooters. The journey of Rossi firearms into the United States market involved several importers over the years, including Benet Arms, Firearms Intl., the Garcia Corp., and Interarms. However, in 1997, Rossi became part of the Braztech empire, which also encompasses Taurus, another prominent Brazilian firearm manufacturer. By 2010, the manufacturing of Rossi-branded products had transitioned to Taurus facilities. In 2018, Braztech made the strategic decision to discontinue the Rossi revolver line, redirecting their focus towards the expanding assortment of Rossi long guns. This move reflected the evolving market dynamics and the company's commitment to meeting the changing demands of firearms enthusiasts.
