The Model 77/44 is a variant of the M77, but chambered in the .44 Rem Mag cartridge!
The Ruger 77/44 was manufactured with the American walnut checkered grip and forearm from 1997-2004 and then reintroduced in 2017.

The Ruger 77/44 is an easy choice for many a hunting guide or backpacker due to it's light weight and reliable accuracy. It certainly doesn't hurt that ammo is available in a wide variety of bullet weights and powder capacities.
