The SHTF 50 is an upper conversion system that turns any standard AR15/M16 lower into a magazine fed .50 Caliber Bolt Action rifle. The SHTF 50 is designed to fit any mil spec AR15/M16 pattern lower. The SHTF50 is available in 3 different barrel lengths: 18", 22", and 29".
This example features an 18" 4140 Chromemoly barrel with an 8 port steel muzzle break threaded to the barrel, 2283.57 muzzle velocity, 12.0 lbs barrel weight, 2 lug bolt head machines from 4340 Chromemoly Steel, bolt body machined from 4130 Chromemoly tubing, and scope mount made of aluminum with Picatinny rail profile mounted on the receiver.
Note: AR-15 lower NOT included.
Due to BATFE complications that started in July 2018 Safety Harbor Firearms halted production till they could receive an official determination for the SHTF50 upper conversions. Long story short, they determined that the SHTF50 upper assemblies constitute a "receiver" of a firearm. This means that all SHTF50 upper assemblies, from this point on, need to transfer through a FFL dealer.
