The Savage Arms Model 93R series is a top performer in the rimfire rifle market, exclusively chambered for the .17 HMR cartridge. The Savage 93 action is used in all Model 93R rifles, featuring dual extractors and a fixed blade ejector. Cartridges are fed from a removable 5-round box magazine, with a two-position safety located behind the bolt handle at the right rear of the action. The "bottom iron" is blued sheet metal, and the trigger guard is plastic. There are many different models in the Savage 93R line, with standard contour and heavy (varmint) barrels, and stocks made of hardwood, laminated wood, black synthetic, and camo synthetic. Regardless of material, all Savage 93R series stocks come with detachable sling swivel bases. From 2006 onward, all Savage Model 93R rifles come with the Savage Accu-Trigger, which is considered the best rimfire rifle trigger available. It is comparable to Olympic-level triggers, and nothing else in the Savage 93R's price range comes close.
